GENTLE MARTIAL ARTS FOR ADULTS IN THEIR 50s, 60s, 70s and BEYOND!

Martial Arts As We Get Older
Our Gentle Martial Arts classes are designed specifically for adults who want to improve their health, mobility, confidence, and wellbeing — without pressure, competition, or intensity.
This class is ideal if you are new to martial arts, returning after a long break, or simply looking for a safe and supportive way to stay active as you get older.
Why Gentle Martial Arts?
As we get older, our bodies change — and so should the way we train.
Gentle martial arts focuses on:
-
controlled movement
-
breathing and posture
-
balance and coordination
-
light strength and flexibility
-
mental focus and relaxation
Classes are taught at a comfortable pace, allowing you to work within your own limits while still challenging both body and mind.
You Don’t Need to Be Fit to Start
Many adults worry they are “too unfit”, “too stiff”, or “too old” to try martial arts.
The truth is — you don’t need to be fit to begin.
There are:
-
no fitness requirements
-
no pressure to perform
-
no expectation to keep up with anyone else
Simply turning up is the hardest part. Everything else comes gradually.
A Supportive, Adult-Only Environment
This class is purely for adults, creating a relaxed and welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable learning and progressing at their own pace.
Alongside gentle martial arts techniques, classes may include:
-
breathing exercises
-
basic self-defence concepts
-
meditation and mindfulness
-
light conditioning
Many students notice improvements in confidence, mobility, energy levels, and overall wellbeing over time.
